La Petite Maison's Drink – A Recipe
WHere is a home-style version of a drink found on our latest drinks list. Designed as a party-sized pre-mixed that is packed full of flavours of the holiday season, making it ideal for hosting a celebration. Save the extra cordial you can use for breakfast cocktails, desserts, or to mix additional servings of bikinis.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 servings
Ingredients for the Clementine Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
To make the Premix (makes 850ml, serving 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Instructions
For the Cordial: Place every components inside a pan, heat until it reaches a simmer, mixing until the sugar dissolves. After that, turn off the burner and let it to reach room temperature entirely. Decant to a clean bottle, cap it and store chilled, where it will keep for about one month.
Preparing the Batch Mix: Mix all the liquid ingredients in a big jug, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then filter it preferably using cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of your premix to a cocktail shaker packed with ice, and stir carefully for a minute to chill. Pour into an cold coupe glass or equivalent, garnish with the cranberries and complete it by giving it a quick spritz of the essential oil over the top.
