I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
